    • Merry-Go-Round

    A TMJ surgical patient was going round and round and round on a continuous hellish Merry-Go-Round. The patient in pain, dizzy, confused, lack of jaw function is unable to jump off……..

    A SUBJECTIVE TMJ doctor came along and said: "I feel for you, going around and around and around."

    AN OBJECTIVE TMJ doctor came along and said: "It's Logical that someone would go around and around and around."

    A HYPOCRITICAL TMJ doctor came along and said: "After eight UNSUCCESSFUL surgeries YOU must have a motive (lawsuit, personal agenda, Munchausen type syndrome)…now I can fit you in my surgical schedule next week."

    A PHARISEE TMJ doctor came along and said: "Only bad patients stay on that Merry-Go-Round."

    A CHARISMATIC TMJ doctor came along and said: "Just confess that you're not following MY treatment plan 100% or your spouse/boyfriend is abusing you."

    AN OPTIMIST TMJ doctor came along and said: "Things could be worse." "Quit complaining, NONE of MY other patients are having problems. YOU must be doing something WRONG."

    A PESSIMIST TMJ doctor came along and said: "Things will get worse unless I OPERATE AGAIN, and again, and again…"

    A SELF-PITYING TMJ doctor came along and said: "You haven't seen anything until you've seen how miserable you are making ME with all of YOUR QUESTIONS. You don't have any idea how frustrating it is for ME, especially after each surgery on YOU, and I AM exhausted going to the bank with MY deposits."

    The TMJ ASSOCIATION came along and IMMEDIATELY JUMPED ABOARD the Merry-Go-Round, gently slowly and lovingly supporting, providing information and promoting awareness. For the very first time since MY first FAILED SURGERY, the Merry-Go-Round slows down…NOW I PRAY NIH, FDA, M.D.'S, SCIENTISTS, ADA, AND AAOMS STOPS THE MERRY-GO-ROUND and allows me to get off with HOPE (future), DIGNITY (ability of open jaw) and QUALITY OF LIFE (tolerable pain levels).

    Please HALT my Merry-Go-Round with RESEARCH, SCIENCE, FACTS, and most importantly, A SOLUTION for ME, for ALL OF US. I BEG YOU.
