    Disclosure of Your Information

    The TMJ Association is fully committed to protecting the privacy of our web site visitors. All information collected via our web site is held in confidence. Personal information provided by our visitors is not disclosed, given away, sold, or transferred to third parties.

    When you register we invite you to share certain information with us. The information that you give us is maintained on our secure servers for our internal processes only. Our registration forms require users to give us contact information that may include name, e-mail address, format preference (HTML vs. text), address, interests and other pertinent information. We do not request or store sensitive information from our visitors, such as social security numbers. Credit card information is processed over a secure connection by GeoTrust, and is not stored by The TMJ Association, GeoTrust, or Give Direct.

    The information that you provide is extremely helpful to us in identifying topics that most interest you. It is also helpful in educating healthcare policy makers, government agencies and healthcare professional organizations about the reality of TMJDs. Lastly; the demographic information you give us is used to verify who we serve when we apply for state registrations, grants and funding through various organizations such as the Combined Federal Campaign and State Employees Combined Campaigns. These organizations have strict requirements and oversight which we must meet each year in order to be able to participate in the annual campaigns and raise money. By registering with the TMJA you enable us raise these types of funds.

    Security

    In order to prevent unauthorized access and protect our users' personal information, we strive to maintain physical, electronic and administrative safeguards to secure information we collect online. Additionally, all information is stored in a secure location accessible only by authorized staff.

    Internet Protocol Addresses

    Every time you access The TMJ Association Website, our server collects the standard Internet Protocol, or IP, address from your computer. The IP address is a number assigned to your computer when using the internet. The IP address is not personally identifiable, nor do we make any attempt to link IP addresses to individuals. The IP address information gathered by The TMJ Association is not shared with outside parties. The IP address allows The TMJ Association to track such information such as date and time of access, browser use, pages visited, and if you came to our website from an outside link. The TMJ Association collects IP address to gather aggregate information in order to analyze our website performance in order to better serve our audience.

    The TMJA collects and stores registration information in a database. This information includes: name, e-mail address, mailing address, telephone, fax, description of the visitor, how you heard about us, if you would like to receive e-mail web site updates and if you would like to receive an electronic copy of our newsletter and science journal. The disclosure of this personal information is voluntary and not necessary to access most areas of our web site.
