Speaker
Daniel Clauw, MD, is Professor of Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine (Rheumatology), and Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Medical School and Director of the Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center. He is a physician–scientist internationally recognized for his work on the central nervous system mechanisms underlying chronic pain and fatigue conditions, including fibromyalgia and temporomandibular disorders.

Dr. Clauw leads multidisciplinary research focused on redefining chronic pain as a centralized, brain-driven condition and translating these insights into improved clinical care. He has served as principal investigator on multiple NIH-funded pain, TMD, and clinical and translational science training grants and has played a key role in mentoring the next generation of pain researchers. His work has significantly shaped contemporary understanding of chronic pain and informed nonpharmacologic and systems-based approaches to treatment.

The 2025-2026 Rounds Series
The Rounds is an interdisciplinary educational series focused on providing evidence-based knowledge in pain and headache care. Originally developed for clinicians and researchers in Boston, the virtual program has grown to reach participants in more than 80 countries. Since our launching in 2021, we have welcomed not only healthcare professionals but also patients and families, recognizing the value of patient engagement in improving care, best practices, and outcomes. This year, we’re introducing “pain language summaries” and other content for our attendees.
